Durant makes the difference in Golden State’s title run

A determined Kevin Durant led the Golden State Warriors in Game 5 of the NBA Finals Monday night, scoring 39 points in a 129-120 victory over LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers to clinch the NBA championship. “I work hard, I believe in myself, I believe in the game, I respect the game, I love the game, and I knew at some point in my life that it will come around for me,” said Durant, who won his first title and the Finals MVP trophy after joining Golden State in the offseason. Stephen Curry added 34 points, 10 assists, and six rebounds as the Warriors won their second title in three years over Cleveland after squandering a 3-1 game lead to the Cavaliers last year. James, who averaged a triple-double in his eighth trip to the Finals, finished the night with 41 points, 13 rebounds, and eight assists. “I left everything on the floor every game,” James said.
