Vikings QB honors Christ in victory
Minnesota Vikings quarterback Case Keenum stunned the New Orleans Saints on Sunday with a last-second touchdown pass to advance his team to the NFC title game, but he didn’t lose perspective in the thrilling moment. “This is probably going to go down as the third best moment of my life,” Keenum said. “Behind giving my life to Jesus Christ and marrying my wife.” Keenum, 29, is a former undrafted free agent, but after Sunday, Minnesota fans will never forget his name. The Vikings were down 24-23 with 10 seconds remaining when Keenum connected with wide receiver Stefon Diggs for a 61-yard touchdown, putting the Vikings up 29-24 as time expired. “God put me in position,” an emotional Diggs said after the win. “I just tried to take advantage of that opportunity.” The game-winning play was Diggs’ first career playoff touchdown. Keenum began the year as a backup but took over as starter due to injuries. His last-second touchdown pass marked Minnesota’s first playoff victory since 2010. The Vikings will face the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday for a chance to go to the Super Bowl. The Jacksonville Jaguars upset the Pittsburgh Steelers and will face the top-seeded New England Patriots for the AFC championship.
