Tom Brady retiring “for good” this time
Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady said Wednesday he’s retiring from the NFL after his 23rd season. Last February, Brady said he was retiring but returned to play less than six weeks later. He’s won seven Super Bowls, is the only NFL player to win more than five Super Bowls, and has been named MVP five times. At 45, he was the oldest active player this season. While this season was not his best by the numbers, he threw the league’s third-highest number of passing yards and completed 67 percent of his passes.
What will he do now? Fox Corporation CEO Lachlan Murdoch said in May that Brady would join Fox as a lead NFL analyst. He’ll be working alongside broadcaster Kevin Burkhardt. Brady also owns the Brady brand clothing line; Religion of Sports, a social media company; and a health and wellness company, called TB12 Sports, which he founded with trainer Alex Guerrero.
