Jayhawks win NCAA basketball championship

Kansas brought home its fourth NCAA Men’s basketball title Monday thanks to an epic comeback in the second half of its game against North Carolina. The Jayhawks erased a 16-point deficit and eventually edged out the Tar Heels 72-69. David McCormack scored the go-ahead bucket from close range with one minute, 21 seconds left, then another at the 22-second mark to put the Jayhawks ahead by 3. North Carolina missed its final four shots. The Jayhawks victory was the biggest comeback in title game history.

What about the women’s tournament? The South Carolina Gamecocks won the women’s NCAA title Sunday night. Senior guard Destanni Henderson scored a career-high 26 points, leading her team to beat UConn 64-49. That handed the Huskies their first loss in 12 NCAA title games.
