The founding Black Sabbath frontman died on Tuesday morning surrounded by loved ones, according to a statement from his family. Osbourne died just weeks after performing a farewell show in England, after a years-long battle with Parkinson’s disease. Osbourne rose to fame in the early 1970s as lead vocalist of the heavy metal band Black Sabbath. He launched his solo career in the early 1980s after being expelled from the band due to his substance abuse issues. The so-called “Prince of Darkness” became well known for his unique vocal sound and penned a number of popular songs, including “Crazy Train” and “Bark at the Moon”. Osbourne is also known for hits like “Iron Man” and “Paranoid” from his time in Black Sabbath. Osbourne is survived by his wife, Sharon, their children, including Aimee, Kelly, and Jack, and others.
