<em>Game of Thrones</em> takes final bow at Emmys

The HBO fantasy series Game of Thrones dominated the prime-time Emmy Awards for the last time Sunday night. The show, which ended earlier this year, took home a record-tying 12 awards, including best drama series and best supporting actor in a drama for cast member Peter Dinklage. HBO programs won 34 total awards, more than streaming rivals Netflix, which won 27, and Amazon, which took home 15, including best comedy series for Fleabag.

Were any acceptance speeches worth remembering? Alex Borstein, who won for best supporting comedy actress for her role on The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, dedicated the award to her grandmother, a Holocaust survivor. She told the moving story of how her grandmother defied guards who would have shot her to death, “and for that, I am here, and for that my children are here.”
