Duck Dynasty to return to A&E, network says
Duck Dynasty: The Revival is scheduled to air this summer, A&E said Wednesday. The network company confirmed that it had ordered 20 one-hour episodes—or two seasons’ worth of content—from Wheelhouse’s Spoke Studios and Tread Lively Productions.
What’s this show about? The original series holds the record for the most watched nonfiction cable series in American television history. It ran for 11 seasons on A&E before ending in 2017. The show followed the devoutly Christian Robertson family which founded the company Duck Commander. The show succeeded on the Robertsons’ blend of southern charm, good humor, and downhome practicality, A&E’s Executive Vice President and Head of Programing Elaine Frontain Bryant.
The original Duck Dynasty show focused on the Robertson family as a whole, with aging patriarch Phil Robertson and his wife Marsha—popularly known as Miss Kay—at the helm. This new series will instead focus more on Phil’s son Willie and his wife, Korie, as they navigate parenting adult children and grandchildren.
