Chiefs beat 49ers with comeback win
For the first time in 50 years, the Kansas City Chiefs are Super Bowl champions. They defeated the San Francisco 49ers 31-20 Sunday night in Miami, coming from behind in the fourth quarter.
How did they do it? The Chiefs trailed 20-10 before quarterback Patrick Mahomes led them to three touchdowns in the final six minutes of the game. The go-ahead score was a 5-yard touchdown pass to Damien Williams with just under three minutes left. “We never lost faith,” Mahomes, the game’s MVP, told Fox Sports. “I think that’s the biggest thing. Everybody on this team, no one had their head down, and we believed in each other, and that’s what we preached all year long.” Kansas City won its only other Super Bowl title in 1970.
What else are people talking about? In addition to this year’s Super Bowl commercials, many viewers thought Jennifer Lopez and Shakira’s sexually charged halftime performance crossed a line.
