Artificial intelligence giant Anthropic on Monday filed papers with the Securities and Exchange Commission for its initial public offering. The filing did not disclose much the company planned to raise or how much it expected to charge for shares in its stock. The timing of the filing likely sets Anthropic up for a stock market debut in mid-November.

Anthropic’s value as a company has been estimated by different reports to reach $1.5 or $2 trillion, though a final, formal valuation hasn’t been published. The IPO alone could raise as much as $100 billion, according to the Associated Press. If so, Anthropic’s opening would break SpaceX’s record for the biggest IPO.

Anthropic said its revenue from the Claude artificial intelligence platform was growing rapidly. The company made more than $16 billion in the first half of 2026, according to the filing. However, it lost over $80 billion in that same period of time. Like many other AI giants, Anthropic spends a lot of money on buying computing power, training its AI models, and fielding lawsuits. Its filing left some blank spaces, not disclosing its third-quarter earnings or its agreements to buy computing power from other companies.
