Trump receives second fine in a week for violating gag order

While attending a civil trial in New York on Wednesday, Trump made a comment accusing Judge Arthur Engoron of being “partisan” and said he had “a person who is very partisan sitting alongside him.” Engoron fined Trump $10,000 for the remark, saying the latter comment was directed against his clerk, which violated a gag order to prevent Trump from criticizing courtroom staff. Trump later told the judge his comment was about Michael Cohen, one of the witnesses.

What did he do to get fined the first time? Trump was fined $5,000 on Friday after his campaign website continued to display a social media post criticizing Engoron’s clerk. The post remained up after Engoron had ordered it removed.
