Trump comments on Ronna McDaniel’s NBC ouster
Former President Donald Trump, on his social media platform Truth Social, said Tuesday that former Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel “only lasted two days” at the “Fake News” organization. He said that, even after she “went out of her way to say what they wanted to hear,” she still found herself canceled into “NEVER NEVERLAND”—which he described as “not a place you want to be.”
What happened? NBC News reported on the ouster on Tuesday, citing a company memo from NBCUniversal Chairman Cesar Conde. He said that employees had brought forth “legitimate concerns” about her hiring. As a result, “I have decided that Ronna McDaniel will not be an NBC News contributor.”
McDaniel said late last month that she would resign from her position as chairwoman of the Republican National Committee after Trump won the South Carolina presidential primary. Two weeks previously, Trump had issued a statement endorsing Michael Whatley to take over McDaniel’s position and his daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, to serve as his new co-chair.
