Sen. Dianne Feinstein back home after hospital visit

The 90-year-old California Democrat was back home Wednesday after a hospital visit for a fall at her home in San Francisco. Her staff described the fall as minor and said she was doing well. They described the visit as a precautionary measure.

Is this a normal thing for Feinstein? Feinstein’s health has been under scrutiny in recent months. She is the oldest serving U.S. senator and member of Congress, and she recently spent nearly three months away from work earlier this year after being hospitalized with shingles. Meanwhile, Republican Senate Minority leader Mitch McConnell, 81, is also under scrutiny for his health after stopping midsentence and leaving his news conference on July 26. He was hospitalized after a fall earlier this year at a dinner event.
