New York Acting Supreme Court Justice Juan Merchan on Friday morning delayed President-elect Donald Trump’s sentencing hearing for his business fraud conviction. Trump was previously scheduled to be sentenced on Tuesday, Nov. 26. Merchan outlined his decision in a one-page document but did not set a new date for sentencing. Bragg’s office then will have until Dec. 9 to respond to the Trump team’s motion. A Manhattan jury found President-elect Donald Trump guilty on 34 counts of business fraud in May. Trump has consistently denied any wrongdoing.
