Nearly all Cybertrucks affected in latest Tesla recall

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported a recall affecting more than 46,000 2024-2025 Tesla Cybertrucks on Tuesday. An exterior trim panel can detach from the vehicle, creating a road hazard for other vehicles, the government regulator said.
What’s the problem? The issue is a faulty adhesive that can become brittle under environmental stress. Tesla centers can replace the panel for free, according to the carmaker’s website. By March 21, the company expects to be able to modify its manufacturing process to use a more durable adhesive and reinforce the panel attachment on all newly assembled vehicles, the recall report said.
Tesla has so far identified 151 warranty claims that may be related to the panel issue, but none involved accidents or injuries, according to the report.
What else has happened to Teslas lately? The recall came days before the Department of Justice on Thursday announced charges against three alleged perpetrators of arson and vandalism of Tesla properties. U.S. Attorney General Pamela Bondi characterized the attacks as domestic terrorism.
Did Tesla founder Elon Musk comment on the recall? Musk had not made a statement about the recall as of Friday afternoon.
