Musk apologizes for some statements in fight with Trump

Former White House adviser Elon Musk on Wednesday said he regretted some social media posts he made during a public feud with President Donald Trump. The billionaire founder of SpaceX and Tesla said some of his statements went too far.
The two traded jabs last week after Musk expressed opposition to the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, the budget that is Trump’s priority for Congress. In the spat, Musk reposted Trump’s former statements about eliminating the national deficit and criticized the bill’s spending levels. He also suggested the president wouldn’t have won the presidency without his support. In now-deleted posts, Musk also accused Trump of appearing in the infamous Epstein files and threatened to decommission the Dragon spacecraft, which is made by Musk’s SpaceX and flies missions for NASA. Trump meanwhile accused Musk of starting the feud only because the bill didn’t contain an electric vehicle mandate profiting Musk’s Tesla company.
Did Trump respond to Musk’s apology? The president had not responded to Musk as of midmorning Wednesday. It was unclear if he had seen the post, which Musk made around 3 a.m.
