Moscow increases air strikes, killing six in Ukraine

Russian missiles on Wednesday struck the port city of Odesa, while artillery hit two cities in the eastern Donetsk province. Ukrainian officials said the attacks killed three warehouse employees in Odesa and three civilians in Donetsk. Ukrainian armed forces spokesman Andriy Kovalov said Russia has increased missile attacks along the 600-mile front line as Kyiv continues its counter-offensive.

Is the counteroffensive succeeding? Ukraine’s Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Maliar said Wednesday that Ukrainian troops had advanced in the east and the south, despite heavy Russian opposition. Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday said he might order his troops to seize more land, despite his troops’ shortage of weapons and equipment.
