Police in east Hollywood early Saturday morning arrested a 29-year-old man after he allegedly drove his car into a crowd of people outside a Los Angeles nightclub. The suspect, identified as Fernando Ramirez, reportedly injured 36 people, at least seven of whom were in critical condition after the incident. Police took Ramirez into custody at the scene and charged him with assault with a deadly weapon.
What did bystanders do after the attack? Civilians on the street pulled Ramirez from his vehicle after the incident and attacked him, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. An unidentified man approached Ramirez during the fight and shot him in the lower back. Authorities transported Ramirez to the hospital and police on Monday were still searching for the shooting suspect.
