King Charles III to take first international tour since cancer diagnosis
Charles and Queen Camilla will travel to Australia and Samoa in October for a meeting with leaders of the Commonwealth nations, Buckingham Palace said on Sunday. The trip will be the king’s first formal tour abroad since February when he announced his diagnosis of cancer. The king, age 75, in April resumed his public appearances following a nearly three-month break during which he received treatment, according to Buckingham Palace. In June he attended events in northern France commemorating the 80th anniversary of D-Day.
What about the Princess of Wales? Kate Middleton and her daughter, Princess Charlotte, on Sunday attended the men’s final of the Wimbledon tennis tournament. Video posted by ESPN shows attendees giving her a standing ovation. She presented the championship trophy to Carlos Alcaraz after he defeated Novak Djokovic. Middleton, 42, in March revealed that she had also been diagnosed with cancer. Her public appearances have been limited since that time.
