Group submits petition to oust Wisconsin Assembly speaker

On Monday, supporters of former President Donald Trump filed a petition of nearly 11,000 signatures calling for a vote to recall Wisconsin Assembly Speaker Robin Vos. Vos, a Republican, has held the title since 2013. The signatories support the recall because Vos failed to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election and failed to impeach the Wisconsin Elections Commission Administrator Meagan Wolfe for her handling of the results. Biden won Wisconsin by a narrow margin of about 21,000 votes.

What are the next steps?  The signatures on the petition will be checked for legitimacy. If at least 6,850 signatures are valid, a recall election will proceed. It is unclear when that will happen.
