G3 Ministries appoints new president months after founder resigned

The Reformed Baptist ministry on Monday said its board of directors had appointed Dr. Scott Aniol as the new leader, effective July 9. G3 Ministries focuses on educating, encouraging, and equipping local churches with Biblical theology, according to its website. The decision came two months after former leader and founder Josh Buice stepped down when he admitted to running multiple online accounts that slandered pastors and elders. After Buice’s departure, the ministry canceled its 2025 national conference and began searching for his replacement.

Who is Aniol? He joined G3 Ministries in 2021 as executive vice president and editor-in-chief of G3 Press, according to a statement from the organization. He also oversaw the growth of the G3 Church Network and previously served on the faculty of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Aniol holds a Ph.D. and a Master of Theological Studies from the seminary and currently serves as a professor at Grace Bible Theological Seminary. Aniol is an elder at Pray’s Mill Baptist Church in Douglasville, Ga., where Buice previously served as an elder.

What have ministry leaders said about the change? Aniol’s new position was a recognition for his years of exceptional leadership, said G3 Ministries board chairman Jonathan Frazier. According to the board, Aniol had already been fulfilling the role of president and his appointment would provide a stable foundation for the ministry. In the statement announcing his new position, Aniol said his goal is to see G3 continue to be a trusted resource for pastors and churches.
