Each week, The World and Everything in It features a “Culture Friday” segment, in which Executive Producer Nick Eicher discusses the latest cultural news with John Stonestreet, president of the Chuck Colson Center for Christian Worldview. Here is a summary of this week’s conversation.

This week, the Center for Medical Progress released a new investigative video featuring a conversation with the CEO of the fetal body parts supplier StemExpress. The center had to wait for a California court to lift an injunction that prevented release of interview footage with CEO Cate Dyer.

Reviewing the video, it’s easy to understand why StemExpress sued and claimed the footage would do the company harm. Dyer discusses the delicate nature of body-parts procurement, particularly human brains, as well as the market demand for high volume and even the squeamishness of some of her clients.

Dyer said some clients want limbs without hands and feet attached, and she said that sometimes the “lab techs freak out and have meltdowns.”

“Why is that?” asked John Stonestreet. “Because that’s what happens when you see a human treated in a dehumanizing way and treated in a shocking way. “

Stonestreet said people’s reactions to the videos show one of the “screaming inconsistencies” of the abortion movement.

“The cavalier, everyday manner in which these folks are talking about something like this, that’s what people find so horrifying,” he said. Cecile Richards, president of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America, even apologized after the first video came out for the lack of compassion shown by an abortionist in the footage.

“Why would it be insensitive if all we’re talking about is tissue that doesn’t have any human value?” Stonestreet asked. “None of these videos were filmed with the mom in the room, so it’s certainly not a victimization of the woman. It only has to do with the child.”
