Congressional corridors and Washington e-mail in-boxes are rife with anti-French jokes. Resentment of France's appeasement of Iraq and opposition to U.S. leadership in the war against terrorism is running high here. Now, congressional cafeterias will no longer serve "French fries" and "French toast." Instead, they'll serve "Freedom fries" and "Freedom toast." The protest is the brainchild of Reps. Bob Ney (R-Ohio) and Walter Jones (R-N.C.).
