Wartime support for President Bush-already high- is rising higher. Some 64 percent of Americans approve his handling of the Iraq crisis, up 9 points in one week. Only 29 percent disapprove. Tony Blair is quickly gaining ground, too. After weeks of concern that Mr. Blair's government might fall before Saddam's, the British prime minister decisively won a parliamentary vote of confidence, 412 to 149.

Meanwhile, Americans are losing confidence in France. One year ago, 79 percent of Americans thought favorably of France. By February, that number had dropped to 59 percent. It's now down to just 34 percent, according to a new poll by Gallup.
