West Virginia braces for more soggy misery
West Virginia prepared for more rain today on top of last week’s deadly floods, which killed at least 23 people. Floodwaters have yet to recede in Greenbrier County, where more than a dozen people have died and more are believed to be missing. “Everybody’s just keeping an eye on the sky” as search and rescue teams continue to check whether everyone is accounted for, West Virginia Emergency Management Agency spokesman Tim Rock said. More heavy rains are forecast later in the day. More than 20 counties, most in the southern part of the state, are under a flash-flood watch.
