Turning Point USA to offer rebuttal of Candace Owens on show

Blake Neff, producer of the Charlie Kirk Show, said a group of Kirk’s friends will formally respond to Candace Owens’ allegations and theories surrounding the conservative activist’s death. They will livestream from their Phoenix studio on Dec. 15, he said. Neff invited Owens to join in person, but she wasn’t able to do so, he said on Thursday. Neff’s statement came despite an offer by Owens to take part in the show virtually.

Owens, a far-right media personality, has repeatedly claimed that the U.S. government was behind Kirk’s Sept. 10 murder on the campus of Utah Valley University. She also accused the leadership of Turning Point USA, Kirk’s advocacy organization, of betraying him. Owens claimed Kirk’s friends approved his murder and might also have her killed, according to Neff.

Turning Point staffers waited months to see if Owens would stop lobbing accusations, Neff said. The time had come to rebut them, he said.

How did Owens respond? She offered to cancel her own podcast on Dec. 15 and join the show virtually, but eventually said she would livestream the show and respond to the statements of Kirk’s friends in real time on her own show.
