Trump to appear for booking Thursday in Atlanta
A judge in Georgia has set bond at $200,000 for former President Donald Trump in his election results racketeering case. He said Monday that he will turn himself in to the Fulton County Jail in Atlanta on Thursday. Trump and 18 co-defendants face charges of illegally trying to overturn the state’s 2020 election results. Trump maintains he did nothing wrong and the prosecution is a political attack.
How long will Trump be at the jail? He is only expected to stay long enough to be booked, which typically involves being photographed, fingerprinted, and asked for certain personal information. He will return for arraignment in court at a later date. In court documents filed Monday, a judge also ordered Trump not to intimidate any witnesses in the case, particularly on social media.
