Trump throws support behind RNC co-chair candidate
President-elect Donald Trump on Monday endorsed K.C. Crosbie for the position of co-chairwoman of the Republican National Committee. Crosbie—who currently serves as the RNC’s treasurer—would be an ideal replacement for Trump’s daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, the president-elect said. If elected, Crosbie would serve opposite Michael Whatley.
Did Trump name any more cabinet nominees? Trump named Mark Paoletta as his pick to be the general counsel of the U.S. Office of Management and Budget. Paoletta will work closely with the newly announced Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE, the president elect said. DOGE will be a purely advisory body that is expected to recommend legislation to Congress designed to streamline government operations.
Trump also named Harmeet Dhillon as his pick to be assistant attorney general for civil rights at the U.S. Department of Justice. Dhillon had fought big tech’s alleged censorship of free speech and worked to protect the rights of Christians to gather together for worship during the COVID-19 pandemic, Trump said.
