Trump gains 162 votes in final Wisconsin recount
President-elect Donald Trump remains the winner of Wisconsin, after a recount gave him an additional 162 votes. Election officials completed the recount today. Green Party candidate Jill Stein requested and paid for the second tally, claiming voting machines in the state had a susceptibility to hacking. Trump won the state by more than 22,000 votes, with the recount changing the outcome by just 0.06 percent. Wisconsin is the only one of three states to complete a recount requested by Stein. A federal judge in Michigan halted that state’s recount last week before officials made their way through all the ballot boxes. And today, a federal judge in Pennsylvania denied a recount there, saying Stein’s hacking claim “borders on the irrational.”
