Trump expected to answer questions in lawsuits from former FBI employees
Former President Donald Trump on Tuesday was scheduled to give a deposition under oath as part of lawsuits brought by two former FBI employees suing the Justice Department for allegedly violating their constitutional rights. During his time in office, Trump criticized former FBI Agent Peter Strzok and former FBI attorney Lisa Page.
Why is he being deposed in this lawsuit? The two FBI employees criticized Trump in text messages to each other while investigating whether he colluded with Russia during his 2016 presidential campaign. The Justice Department eventually disclosed those text messages. Page subsequently resigned from the FBI, and the Justice Department fired Strzok. Strzok sued, saying his termination violated his right to freedom of speech. Page also sued, alleging that the department violated her right to privacy.
