Trump criticizes Biden, other Republican candidates in town hall
Former President Donald Trump on Wednesday night claimed he was beating current President Joe Biden in “every single poll.” He went on to describe Biden’s administration as “bedlam.” Trump also criticized Biden’s policies on the southern border. He doubled down on a previous controversial statement, saying “I’m going to be a dictator” for his first day in office. He also said he would close up the southern border and allow U.S. companies to “drill, baby, drill” for oil.
What did he say about his primary opponents? He consistently referred to Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis as “DeSanctimonious” and criticized his handling of the COVID-19 pandemic in his state, calling him a “big fan” of Biden’s former chief medical adviser Dr. Anthony Fauci. He also said former Republican presidential candidate Chris Christie was correct that former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley didn’t stand a chance of making it into the White House.
