Trump appears for booking in Atlanta
Former President Donald Trump surrendered in Atlanta on Thursday night. He was photographed during a brief booking process before being released on a $200,000 bond, as arranged earlier. In Georgia, the Fulton County prosecutor has charged Trump and 18 co-defendants with illegally trying to overturn the 2020 election results.
What has Trump said about the charges? As with the three other times he’s been criminally charged this year, Trump has denied any wrongdoing. On the tarmac in Atlanta yesterday, he told reporters, “If you challenge an election, you should be able to challenge an election.” He continues to seek another term in the White House. In the polls, he leads candidates seeking the Republican Party’s nomination for the presidency.
