Third-party political group “No Labels” votes to put forward 2024 White House ticket
The 800 delegates from all 50 states for the group No Labels on Friday voted to put forward a “Unity presidential ticket,” according to a statement from the group. The organization said it would begin moving toward identifying its candidates. The party’s National Convention Chairman, Mike Rawlings, said the group will announce its selection process on Thursday.
Who is No Labels? The organization describes itself as a refuge for those feeling “politically homeless” due to what it characterizes as the extreme partisanship of both the Republican and Democratic parties. It says it wants to put forward a “United Front” that is solutions-focused rather than party-focused.
What policies does the group stand for? In a “Common Sense” policy booklet, the party says it wants to address economic issues by lowering government spending. It also says it wants to close the border and stop the release of illegal immigrants into the United States. Additionally, it says it wants to “fix the criminal justice system so career criminals can’t keep committing crimes.”
