Ted Cruz announces plan to vote for Trump
Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, announced today he plans to vote for former rival Donal Trump in November. Cruz created a furor during the Republican National Convention this summer when he told people to “vote their conscience,” sidestepping the question of whether he would support the party’s presidential nominee. But in a Facebook post this afternoon, Cruz said he would vote for Trump because he’d promised during his own presidential bid to support the party’s eventual nominee. He also said he believed Hillary Clinton was “wholly unacceptable” to lead the country.
