Suspect in Lunar New Year shooting found dead

Police said a 72-year-old man killed 10 people and wounded 10 more at a dance studio in Los Angeles on Saturday night before targeting another dance hall in nearby Alhambra half an hour later. At the second dance in Alhambra, individuals wrestled the suspect’s firearm away from him, but he escaped. The shootings shut down festivities Sunday for the Lunar New Year in the Monterey Park area.

What do we know about the shooter? Huu Can Tran was found dead of an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound in a white van on Sunday. The van was parked about 20 miles from where the shooting took place. Police said they had not uncovered a motive in the attack. Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna said all of the victims appeared to be over the age of 50.
