Santos survives House expulsion vote
Rep. George Santos, R-N.Y., on Wednesday survived a vote to expel him from the U.S. House of Representatives after 31 Democrats joined 182 Republicans in voting to keep him in his seat. Santos has pleaded not guilty to 23 federal charges that include money laundering, identity theft, lying to Congress, and stealing from donors. Rep. Jamie Raskin, D-Md., said that he voted to keep Santos in the House because he believed it would set a terrible precedent if the House expelled someone who hadn’t yet been convicted of a crime.

Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., sought to bring a privileged resolution to censure Tlaib to the floor, but 23 Republicans joined all House Democrats to block the motion.
