San Diego police tell residents to cross streets the “old-fashioned way”
The San Diego Police Department on Monday shared a viral video on social media of officers pausing mid-arrest to watch a man wearing Apple Vision Pro attempt to cross the street at a city intersection. The Department said it was “all for exploring new dimensions” but urged locals to “remember the importance of pedestrian safety.”
What is Apple Vision Pro? The headgear, which debuted on Feb. 2 for demos at Apple stores, “seamlessly blends digital content with the physical world,” according to last year’s announcement. The company began taking pre-orders last month. Apple has said that vision Pro integrates apps, videos, and interactions with others—like Facetime—into one display. Users use their hands, voice, and eyes to interact with projected images that would typically be on their iPhone. Meanwhile, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg recently argued that his company’s headgear product, Quest, is better and cheaper.
