Russian drones again swarm Ukrainian cities, Zelenskyy says
Ukrainian air defenses responded to an attack Wednesday involving roughly 90 Russian drones, as well as missiles, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said. The Russian attack targeted different cities across Ukraine, Zelenskyy explained. A strike overnight hit an apartment building in Kharkiv, injuring two people, the Kyiv Independent reported on Wednesday. The mass drone attacks have become more common. The Ukrainian Air Force counted some 4,300 drone deployments by Russia from August to October this year.
What does Russia have to say? The Russian Ministry of Defense on Wednesday said it targeted military infrastructure and arms stockpiles with its drone and missile strikes. In the Sumy region specifically, the ministry claimed that it had discovered a cluster of Ukrainian troops, weapons, vehicles, and other hardware. Russian missiles and drones destroyed much of that infrastructure, the ministry said.
