Russia targets Ukrainian infrastructure, rejects peace proposal

Russian missiles damaged Ukrainian power stations and other critical infrastructure Thursday in the largest wave of attacks in weeks. Officials claim Ukrainian forces shot down 54 of 69 missiles fired at cities across the country. At least two people were killed in the attack, and thousands were left without power.

Are there any plans for peace? The Kremlin this week rejected a 10-point peace plan outlined by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, saying any peace proposals must allow four Ukrainian regions to remain under Russian control. Zelenskyy first announced his plan in November, which called for Russian troops to withdraw from Ukraine’s internationally-recognized territory. Moscow has claimed it is open to negotiations but has made little progress.
