Report shows religious, ethnic breakdown of 2024 election results
The Associated Press issued a report showing that 54% of Catholic voters supported President-elect Donald Trump, with Vice President Kamala Harris winning only 44%. The data showed a rise in Catholic support for Trump, with 2020 polling numbers at a near tie between Trump winning 50% and Biden grabbing 49%. Since then, growth of Trump’s Catholic support was most notable in North Carolina, Florida and Texas, according to the report. When factoring in race, about 60% of Trump’s Catholic support came from white voters, while about 40% was from Hispanic voters.
Where did other races and religions fall?
About 80% of black protestants supported Harris with 15% rallying behind Trump.
Nearly 70% of Jewish voters backed Harris, while 30% voted for Trump
About two-thirds of Islamic voters supported Harris, while about one-third supported Trump.
About 60% of Mormons supported Trump, and about one-third voted for Harris
Only 30% of non-religious voters polled for Trump, with a whopping 70% backing Harris.
