Authorities arrested three protesters for allegedly disrupting Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s Tuesday night town hall outside Atlanta. Police had to use a Taser to subdue one protester, according to attendee reports. Online footage of the meeting showed police struggling with a man before Greene started talking. Greene moved forward with her town hall with constituents despite the initial interruption.
What has Greene said about the incident? The congresswoman insisted she would not be intimidated by the Democratic protesters in a Tuesday night statement. She released another statement on Wednesday morning praising police for their protocol response to the disruption. Greene’s Wednesday post included a clip of one protester wrestling with an officer and grabbing at his collar, nearly knocking into media equipment. Greene described the protesters as deranged and aggressive, and claimed video footage proved they resisted arrest.
What do we know about the protesters? The Associated Press reported that one of the demonstrators held a sign accusing Greene of improperly buying stocks ahead of Trump’s surprise announcement of his 90-day freeze on tariffs last week. Greene denied the claim.
