Police arrest suspect in firebombing of pro-life center

The U.S. Attorney’s office in Madison said that officers on Tuesday arrested the suspect in Boston’s Logan International Airport. He allegedly threw two Molotov cocktails into the Wisconsin Family Action office in May 2022. One of the bombs failed to ignite, while the other set a bookcase on fire. No one was in the office at the time. The words, “If abortions aren’t safe then you aren’t either,” were scrawled on an outer wall of the building.

Who is the suspect? He is 29-year-old Hridindu Sankar Roychowdhury. In January, police assigned to protect the Wisconsin state Capitol building in Madison were reviewing footage of people spray-painting graffiti on Capitol grounds. The graffiti at the Capitol resembled those words scrawled on the pro-life office. Police later tracked Roychowdhury. DNA samples from one of his discarded burrito wrappers matched DNA samples found at the Wisconsin Family Action office. Roychowdhury’s attorney on Tuesday declined to comment on the charges.
