Pence speaks at Focus on the Family’s anniversary celebration
Vice President Mike Pence gave the keynote address Friday at Focus on the Family’s 40th anniversary celebration. The pro-family, pro-life group has stepped back from political involvement since the exit of former president James Dobson in 2010 but has maintained a close relationship with Pence. Focus on the Family recently supported Pence after he endured flak about his decisions to refrain from privately dining with women other than his wife or attending events with alcohol alone. They also stood behind then-Gov. Pence in 2015 when he took heat for signing Indiana’s Religious Freedom Restoration Act. Pence thanked Focus for its impact on families and children around the country and said the organization has an “unwavering ally in President Donald Trump.”
