Man who attacked Nancy Pelosi’s husband convicted
A jury on Thursday found California’s David DePape guilty of assaulting Paul Pelosi, the husband of former U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. DePape admitted during the trial that he broke into Pelosi’s San Francisco home in October of last year and bludgeoned him with a hammer. He claimed he did so to stop a government conspiracy. The jury deliberated for roughly eight hours before delivering the verdict. DePape is scheduled for sentencing in December. He could receive up to 50 years behind bars.

Angie Craig, D-Minn. Hamlin attacked the congresswoman in the elevator of her Washington, D.C., apartment in February. He apologized to Craig at his sentencing and said he’ll seek mental health and substance abuse treatment.
