Pastor Jack Hayford dies at 88

Pastor Jack Hayford passed away at his home in Los Angeles on Jan. 8. He was 88. Hayford survived polio as a child and viewed it as a sign that he was meant to become a pastor. Hayford founded The King’s University in 1997 and was president of The Foursquare Church from 2004 to 2009. He authored over 50 books and hundreds of worship songs. Hayford is survived by his wife, Valerie, four children, and several grandchildren.

What else is Hayford known for? A timeline of Hayford’s life and ministry is on the Foursquare Church’s website. He is also the author of Majesty, a song he penned after visiting the UK with his first wife, Anna, in 1977.
