Passenger plane crashes in Nepal

A plane making a 27-minute, 125-mile flight on Sunday from Nepal’s capital, Kathmandu, to Pokhara crashed just before landing. One resident in Pokhara filmed the plane careening over onto its side as if it was—in his words—“dodging a missile.” Seventy-two people were aboard the plane, counting all passengers and crew members. Four people are still missing, while the rest were found deceased.

Do they know why the plane crashed? Not for certain. Nepal’s government has established a panel to investigate the crash and expects a report within several weeks. The airplane last made contact with the local airport minutes before it crashed.
