Michigan man in online terror group sentenced for child sex crimes

A member of the online terror group 764 received 30 years in prison on Thursday after pleading guilty to sexually exploiting a child, according to the Department of Justice. The 764 group infiltrated chat groups and blackmailed or coerced minors to record sexual acts and/or self-harming behavior, U.S. Attorney General Merrick B. Garland said. Richard Densmore, a 47-year-old known by the screenname Rabid, used gaming social media apps like Discord, the DOJ said. Densmore’s exploitation conviction is one charge in a broader indictment against him for child exploitation offenses, authorities clarified.

Why would the 764 do this? The group is an extremist network aiming to normalize the production and possession of gore and child sex abuse materials, the DOJ release explained. The gang aimed to desensitize children toward violence and sex abuse with the end goal of producing chaos to ultimately collapse world order, Olsen explained. Parents need to be aware that this is happening and prevent their children from becoming victims, FBI Detroit Assistant Special Agent in Charge Rebecca Marriott told a local news station.
