Melania Trump signals pro-abortion stance

Former first lady Melania Trump on Thursday seemed to signal pro-abortion values in a video posted to social media. The former first lady said all women have an essential right to individual freedom from the moment they are born. She then referenced the phrase, “my body, my choice,” which often is used as a pro-abortion slogan. The video advertised her upcoming memoir, Melania. Also on Thursday, the Guardian reported she will take a pro-abortion stance in her book. Melania is due out Tuesday from Skyhorse Publishing, an imprint of Simon & Schuster.

What does this mean? Melania’s husband, former President Donald Trump, has claimed credit for appointing Supreme Court justices who helped form the majority for the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization decision overturning Roe v. Wade. He has argued that the states now have the right to decide for their own citizens how they will or won’t protect unborn babies. However, he has taken a stance against a national law to protect babies. He recently promised that if the American people elected him and Congress approved a bill that would protect unborn babies nationwide, he would veto it.

Dig deeper: Read Candice Watters’ column in WORLD Opinions arguing that Christians cannot support Kamala Harris, who supports women having the legal ability to kill their unborn babies, and remain consistent with what they claim to believe.
