Marchers slam Trump across the country
Demonstrators from coast to coast took part in Saturday’s Women’s March, where they protested President Donald Trump’s views on issues such as immigration, abortion, LGBT rights, and women’s rights. In Washington, D.C., the march seemed more like a political rally, with Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand of New York and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi of California, both Democrats, urging women to run for office and vote to oppose Trump and Republicans. “We march, we run, we vote, we win,” Pelosi said, to applause. Trump, who was inaugurated one year ago today, responded to the message of the marchers by tweeting that it was a “perfect day” for women to celebrate the “economic success and wealth creation” that’s occurred during his first year in office. “Get out there now to celebrate the historic milestones and unprecedented economic success and wealth creation that has taken place over the last 12 months,” the president wrote. “Lowest female unemployment in 18 years!”
