Manchester attacker bought bomb components alone

Manchester suicide bomber Salman Abedi may not have had as much help as police originally thought. British terror investigators initially said Abedi did not have the expertise to build such a sophisticated device on his own, concluding he must have been part of an extensive terror network. But after reviewing security camera footage taken throughout the city in the four days leading up to the attack, investigators now believe Abedi acted mostly alone when he purchased the bomb’s components. Abedi detonated the device outside an Ariana Grande concert last week, killing 22 people and wounding 116 others. Investigators have arrested 16 people since then. Eleven remain in custody. Police still don’t know for sure who might have helped Abedi with his plot. They’ve now focused their investigation on multiple trips Abedi made to one part of Manchester, carrying a blue suitcase police have yet to recover.
