A man who killed three people and wounded three more in a Memphis, Tenn., shooting spree pleaded guilty, the Shelby County, Tenn., district attorney’s office said on Wednesday. The shooter livestreamed his attacks while driving around the city in September 2022. He accepted a plea deal to avoid going to trial, where he would have faced at least 27 charges including first-degree murder, attempted murder, terrorism, and carjacking, according to the office.
What penalties did the shooter receive? He will serve three life sentences, plus 200 years, in prison. The families of the victims approved of the settlement, according to the district attorney’s office.
